What paper buttons are made of

The paper button is made from recycled paper. Recycled paper comes from three sources:

  1. From ground paper, which are the scraps and pieces left over from paper manufacturing and are recycled within the paper mill
  2. Post-consumer waste, which is used paper that consumers discard and recycle, such as magazines, newspapers, and office paper.
  3. Pre-consumer waste, that which has been discarded in preparation for consumption.

Recycled paper buttons are made from 45%-55% recycled paper.

What are the main characteristics of paper buttons?

The technical details detailed below give paper buttons strength and durability equal to a traditionally manufactured button, whether made of polyester or nylon.

The composition is:

  • Recycled paper 45 – 55%
  • Filled with 28-40% recycled thermosetting material
  • Technical binders 7 – 15 %

The characteristics are

- Dry cleaning resistance

- Ironing resistance 110º

- Resistance to steam ironing

- Can be tinted

- They comply with the OEKO-TEX regulations
